Public Hearing For Adoption Of Watershed Master Plans

On Thursday, February 26, at 2 p.m., the Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing (Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl Street, Third Floor Hearing Room) to review the watershed master plans for Fourmile Creek, Left Hand Creek, Little Thompson River, St. Vrain Creek, and Upper Coal Creek. After a staff presentation and public comment, the commissioners will consider adoption of the master plans.

Public Hearing Scheduled for Feb. 26 to Consider Adoption of Watershed Master Plans

On Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. the Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing atBoulder County Courthouse 3rd Floor Hearing Room, 1325 Pearl Street, Boulder to review the watershed master plans for Fourmile Creek, Left Hand Creek, Little Thompson River, St. Vrain Creek, and Upper Coal Creek. After a staff presentation and public comment, the commissioners will consider adoption of the master plans.

In December 2014, Boulder County completed watershed master plans for St. Vrain Creek, Left Hand Creek, and Fourmile Creek. Boulder County also participated in the development of watershed master plans for the Little Thompson River and Upper Coal Creek, as these drainage areas include lands located in unincorporated Boulder County. All five plans continue the recovery

Veterinarians Donate Time for Pet Sterilization & Vaccinations

The St. Vrain Area Veterinary Hospitals are again providing low cost vaccinations for pets owned by people who qualify for the Colorado Works, Medicaid, Disability and the Low Income Elderly Pension Programs. The residents of Lyons, Longmont, and the Niwot Area may apply for these services, administered by the Longmont Branch of Human Services of Boulder County. This organized veterinary program started in the 1960s. To qualify for this service or for the free pet sterilization program, call Amy Foxworthy at the Longmont Branch of Human Services, 303-678-6003.

The City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department will increase enforcement of new Voice and Sight Tag Program changes that went into effect on Jan. 1. The changes require off-leash dogs to visibly display current blue Voice and Sight Tags, which demonstrate their guardians have complied with new program requirements. Previously issued green tags are no longer valid.
