Hilltop Guild’s Holiday Open House at Kelley House, you can still pick up some of their delicious crabapple jellies and homemade gift baskets at The Old Gallery. Be sure to visit Distant Harbors to see their collection of unique gifts from around the world as well as by Longmont glass artists. On your way to or from Allenspark, stop by Eagle Plume’s to see their vast collection of Indian jewelry and other items. If it’s a Saturday, you can have some soup from Dayton’s Soup Line. On Saturdays, Tapestry Coffee House has live music from 5-8 pm. For a local flavor, stop in at the Meadow Mountain Café for a delicious breakfast or lunch. Wild Basin Lodge is offering tours as well as complimentary beer, wine, and hot drinks.
To participate in the weekly Celebrate Allenspark drawings for great prizes, just pick up a flyer at Eagle Plume’s or any of the businesses in Allenspark. When you visit a business, get your flyer initialed and after you’ve visited five businesses, drop off your card at Peaceful Valley Ranch, The Old Gallery, or Eagle Plume’s. Drawings are held every Sunday at 5:30 through December 19. Participating businesses are offering special treats such as cider, wine and cheese, and Dayton’s Soup Line (Eagle Plume’s), as well as special discounts.
The Old Gallery, a 501c3 non-profit, showcases works by local artists, including metal sculpture by Kristin DeSantis, stained glass by Joyanne Matthes, hand-colored photos by Cheryl Pennington, wildlife and nature photography by Weldon Lee, Lori Huff, and Tom Andrews. Hand-painted magnets by Johnathon Oppermann make great gifts, too. If you need a holiday photo, Lori Huff is offering portrait sessions. You’ll also find handmade jewelry and handmade wreaths, as well as children’s books and adult novels by local authors Linda Arms White and Sharon Arms Doucet. There are activities for kids every weekend. Beginning in December, there will be a interactive model train exhibit.
