Did a Lyons resident really participate in this year’s Super Bowl? Well . . . sort of. Liz Ferraris, LHS class of 2004 (daughter of Fred and Mary Ferraris), who has been persuing an acting career in Los Angeles landed a plum role in a commercial, which premiered during the broadcast of Super Bowl XLVII between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.
The ad was for Mennen Speed Stick Deodorant, and because of the nation-wide anticipation of the commercials during the big game, everything about the promotion (including her participation) had to be hush-hush. Ms. Ferraris plays the attractive girl who finds a young man taking her clothes out of the dryer at a Laundromat. What then transpires is very funny.
If you missed the ad during the game (it aired during the third quarter) you can watch it by going to www.youtube.com/speedstick. As of Monday morning, the commercial had been viewed nearly a million times! Over 896,803 times in less than 24 hours (I myself watched three times; to research for this article of course)!
