The Old Gallery in Allenspark is pleased to be part of the collaborative Community Cupboard Food Bank, truly a community effort. Through the generosity of members of the New Covenant Church, The Allenspark Community Church, and The Old Gallery Arts and Community Center, non-perishable food items (peanut butter and jelly, tuna fish, spaghetti sauce, pasta, soups, canned fruit and vegetables, rice, etc.) and personal needs (toothpaste, paper towels,
laundry detergent, soaps, and shampoo, etc.) as well as firewood can be obtained on distribution days. This month’s distribution is Thursday, January 24, from 2 to 6 p.m., at The Old Gallery, 14846 Highway 7 in Allenspark. Deliveries can also be arranged. The Community Cupboard is also open on weekends when The Old Gallery is open, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am. to 4 p.m.
The mission of the Community Cupboard is to make sure no one stands alone, no one goes hungry, and no one lives without the basic needs of life. Folks wishing to donate (tax deductible) to the Community Cupboard can drop off items at several locations: The Allenspark Community Church (across from the Post Office), Rocky Mountain Property, Inc. (corner of Ski Road and Business Rt. 7 in Allenspark) and The Old Gallery. In addition, arrangements for donated items to be picked up at your home can be made. Cash donations are very welcome and help us to purchase and replenish additional supplies that are most popular.
Volunteers are always needed to help with sorting and organizing the shelves and with distribution days. If interested in helping as a volunteer, or for more information, call Marta at (303) 747-1717, Jeff at (303) 747-2468, or Tammy at (303) 747-1111.
