Poetry Talk - April 11

Bucolic Plague

I’ve got the Bucolic Plague
All my thoughts
Pastoral, rustic
Serene
Non-toxic
No weeds
Strong root systems
Unkempt, growing, fertile
Green with expectation
Organic
Unmet?
Bursting forth
Poking through the cold snow
Rebirth, renewal,
Tilling over the brown dead winter
Expectations of possibility

Is it contagious?

About Town - April 11, 2013

Where did that warm weather go?  It was seventy degrees, and in a few hours we are getting snow and cold again. However, we need the moisture, so let it snow!  It was great that it was nice for spring vacation and the St. Vain track meet, so now back to school just six more weeks of school.

Wow, there are lots of things going on in Lyons. Pick up the Parks & Recreation brochure and participate!

About Town - April 4, 2013

Monday was April Fool’s Day however, the weather was not fooling when it was so great Easter Sunday. We hope all enjoyed Easter. The Fire District’s Easter egg hunt with Mr. Bunny was great with lots of kids and lots of prizes. Churches were filled with worshipers happy that the Lord “arose” so many years ago to save us from our sins, and give us something to “look” to at all times. And then, of course, more Easter egg hunts, brunches, dinners with our loved ones, a ride to the hills, games, picnics, etc. An enjoyable day!

Unique Exhibit At Longmont Museum

The Longmont Museum (400 Quail Road) presents “American Visionaries - Dorothea Lange and Maynard Dixon,” which opened March 2, and is running through May 26.
