Christmas Cheer And Changes

By Kathleen Spring

It’s time for the Lyons Golden Gang’s biggest fundraising event of the year, the Christmas Bazaar.  Locals delight in buying holiday gifts that they can say were made by local grannies! Chose from jewelry, raggedy dolls, table runners, potholders, tree decorations, coasters, and more.  If you want to donate crafts, or join the crafters after lunch at the senior center, call Shirley DeVeny (303)

VETERANS DAY WAS SUNDAY, with the Longmont parade on Saturday.  The Lyons High School Band participated in the parade, with a large crowd in spite of the cold and snow.  All paid their respects to  our veterans for the years given out of their lives, and the many who gave of their lives to defend the USA. THIS IS THE DAY!  A lovely day, to end all those political ads on TV and in the papers. It will be a welcome relief.  May the best men or women win!

Ask the Handy Woman!

Answers to your home maintenance and repair questions

By Kheli Mason, The Handy Woman LLC

Last month I wrote about the pros and cons of two types of hot water heaters. I was expecting that I might catch a little “heat” from proponents of one type or the other. What I did get was a wonderful email with yet another option that I thought would be good to share in this month’s column. Here is what Bud O’Connor had to add to the conversation:
