“Open this . . . !”

Ask the Handy Woman!

By Kheli Mason, The Handy Woman LLC

We all open so many things throughout the day: doors, drawers, email (some snail mail), bank accounts, cans of worms, or eyes (sometimes). And among the various things we open very few require any special tools except perhaps a key or can opener. One thing that does get opened, as well as closed, sometimes several times in a day is the garage door. Nowadays, most seem to be equipped with garage door openers that also function as garage door closers (you could really play a chicken and egg thing with this in your head, since a door can’t be opened that isn’t first closed and vice versa).

Discovering the blues and R&B through a local radio station, Treanor developed a lifelong passion for the blues. He started his first band, called The Marauder, at sixteen. “I was raised in a multi-cultural neighborhood where blues, R&B, and Mexican music was the accepted norm. Attention, Behavior, And The Modern World

Stillwater Healing Arts Clinic

By Dr. Sara Hart
In a society that pushes for everyone to have more, be more, and do more, our children quickly get swept into the rapid pace of life that seems impossible to resist.  Our over-stimulated world exists as juxtaposition to the inherent needs of a child whose development is best supported by a simple, consistent routine.

About Town, January 24, 2013

This Colorado weather is very unpredictable. Last Tuesday night it was close to zero, and the next day fifty degrees. Wonderful, except we need moisture; lots of snow and rain.  It is supposed to snow again next week. It will be worth it to have the water.

SCAMS: Email hacking is becoming more common and everyone should be tipped off when something sounds strange or out-of-line. They are usually asking for money, so take care! As for me, I lost my “sents,” “old-mail,” and “contacts” addresses, but I got my contacts back through “Help.”  It also happened to two other folks I know the same week. Beware! DON’T SEND MONEY!

A Step Back In Time

Roads Traveled with Linda L. Osmundson

Over New Years we sailed down the Mississippi from Memphis to New Orleans on the American Queen. Boarding the paddlewheel steamboat was like stepping onto a larger version of the Cotton Blossom of “Show Boat” movie fame. Everywhere I looked, I saw southern Victorian items; furnishings, china, hats, gloves, dolls, wallpaper, and portraits. Specialty rooms called “The Ladies’ Parlor” and “The Men’s Card Room” provided quiet reading alcoves or
