Spring is the Perfect Time for Colorado Lamb

Each month, the Colorado Department of Agriculture features a different commodity to highlight the variety and quality of products grown, raised or processed in the state. This month, Colorado lamb is featured in our Middle Eastern Lamb Sliders recipe.

Colorado is well-known around the world for its high quality lamb. Colorado is ranked third in the nation for sheep and lamb production with 370,000 head valued at more than $60 million.

Ah, some rain and snow this morning to cut down on the wildfire danger and make the flowers bloom and grass grow.  It is hard to believe the weather can change so fast, but that is Colorado!  And just in time for Easter!  Yes, it usually is snowy during the Easter Egg Hunt, but maybe it will clear up before then.  Happy Easter, to all!

About Town with LaVern Johnson, March 29, 2012

Last week was the first day of spring, March 21, a nice day, flowers and trees are blooming. The Garden Club’s daffodils are blooming, a pretty site.  Now we need some rain; a nice wet snow would do.  We are never satisfied.

Entertaining The Kids In Metro Denver

The unseasonably warm weather this March fooled Coloradoans into thinking spring is actually here. However, I’ve experienced Colorado snowstorms in May. My Texas brother swears it snowed one Fourth of July when he visited Denver and we attended a fireworks show. I remember it was cold; my pictures prove that I loaned his wife a heavy coat.

It looks like we had our March weather in February, with the snow and wind.  Now that we need it in March, it is dry and warm, good for spring flowers. We hope you all celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. Happy birthday to Tracey McConnell, whose birthday was on that special day!  Any others?  Call (303) 823-5925.

Mobile Devices

Lee: Have you noticed that technology sales people will only describe where a device or plan works well.  Wouldn’t you love it if sales people said things like “this device really sucks at XYZ”?  It would be much more helpful.

Bob: That’s why we’re here.  This is an inverse sales pitch regarding mobile devices and plans. The key word of the column is “sucks”.

A great week of good weather gone by, nice and warm, no snow or wind. Enjoy it while you can. They say more snow is on the way.  I remember when we had three feet of wet snow in early May, so we have a while to wait.
