For 30 years the Colorado Farm Fresh Directory has been the “go-to” guide that connects consumers with local producers and agritourism activities. Published by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Farm Fresh
promotes Colorado farmers’ markets, roadside stands, u-picks, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) producers, agritourism activities and farms and ranches that sell direct to the public.

Mountain Strong-Fiber Strong
Calling all fiber artists for the 2nd Annual FACE of Fiber in the Rockies, on June 6-8, 2014, at the Historic Elkhorn Lodge in Estes Park.
This spectacular exhibition of fiber arts will be displaying creations of Estes Valley residents including Lyons and Big Elk Meadows. "THE FLOOD" in conjunction with the regular show, will include a special category for works inspired by the 2013 tragedy and its physical or economic effects on the artist, the artist's life and their town.

Lyons High School Class of 1969 graduate Mickey Hawkins, the son of Robert N. Hawkins of Denver, and Gloria D. Hawkins of Lyons enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on March 24, 1969 in Denver. PFC Hawkins arrived in Vietnam on September 24, and was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.
