Why did families living in Lyons in the fall of 2013 feel like families living in Lyons in 1860? This year’s Lyons History Camp attendees can explain that both families went without electricity, they had to cook over a fire, there was no heat, and they had to poop outdoors! Yes, reading from the journals of settlers
in the Old West, the campers discovered that the new homesteads consisted of log cabins built by the settlers, that they were stranded without access to normal town products, and that the families bound together and worked hard to improve their changed lifestyles.
