Santa Fe, New Mexico
Drive south on I-25 about seven hours from Lyons and you arrive in Santa Fe, New Mexico. “A City Different,” “Aspen’s sister,” “O’Keeffe Country,” the highest US capitol city at over 7200 feet, and Spanish for “holy faith.” Thirty-two years ago my husband and I visited the city for a company business conference. More recently, we traveled there to help our middle son and his family settle into a house. Santa Fe has definitely changed!

Central City Opera
A previous article highlighting the 2011 Central City Opera season appeared in the spring of 2011. This year, for the 2012 season, the operas include the Turn of the Screw, Oklahoma, and La Bohème. On Friday, July 13, my husband and I took the chance to see the last two afore mentioned productions in one day.

Over many years my husband and I have celebrated our country’s birthday standing on the same corner of his small northern Minnesota hometown. For the next daytrip suggestion, I’ll concentrate on historic Georgetown. A long time ago when my husband and I were dating, we’d go skiing then stop on the downhill drive from Eisenhower Tunnel in Georgetown for dinner. By the time we ate a bite, the heavy traffic had cleared away and it was smooth driving into Denver.

Entertaining The Kids In Metro Denver
The unseasonably warm weather this March fooled Coloradoans into thinking spring is actually here. However, I’ve experienced Colorado snowstorms in May. My Texas brother swears it snowed one Fourth of July when he visited Denver and we attended a fireworks show. I remember it was cold; my pictures prove that I loaned his wife a heavy coat.
