About Town - April 11, 2013

Where did that warm weather go?  It was seventy degrees, and in a few hours we are getting snow and cold again. However, we need the moisture, so let it snow!  It was great that it was nice for spring vacation and the St. Vain track meet, so now back to school just six more weeks of school.

Wow, there are lots of things going on in Lyons. Pick up the Parks & Recreation brochure and participate!

Multiple Activities For Seniors

After some hard times, the Lyons Golden Gang has had a bit of four-leaf-clover luck over the winter months. Three large donations came their way: from the Town of Lyons, from the organizers of the Holiday Craft Bazaar, and from the Lyons Polar Bear Club. 

The  chilly water and brisk temperatures did not deter those frisky Polar Bears from jumping into the St. Vrain River at Black Bear Hole last month.  Lyons local Harry Kellogg again contacted Vance French about donating all the funds raised to the Lyons Meals on Wheels (MOW)

It’s time for the Lyons Golden Gang’s biggest fundraising event of the year, the Christmas Bazaar.  Locals delight in buying holiday gifts that they can say were made by local grannies! Having best friends to share an event, an outing, or an emotion with is one of life’s best experiences. Some of our earliest memories are of swimming with friends in the summer, playing in the school playground in the fall, exchanging silly gifts at Christmas, or secret messages being exchanged.
