Sweet smell of success

Ahhh, the smell of fresh brewed coffee, scrambled eggs, sizzling sausages, and flapjacks hot off the griddle; now that’s worth getting up for on a Saturday morning! Members of the Golden Gang held a very successful pancake breakfast fundraiser last weekend (Saturday March 13) over at the Walt

Self Senior Center. With a late morning rush around 10:15 a.m., which required a second batch of pancake batter to be mixed up, Center Director Mary

Lou Wallace estimated that they served well over 50 hungry folks.
With the overwhelming success of the endeavor, the Golden Gang would like for this to be a monthly event, so mark it on your calendar, the second Saturday of each month. It’s a great opportunity to see old friends, make new ones, catch up on local news (and gossip) and support a good cause. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 11 a.m., and the price is $5 for adults, $3 for kids and seniors.
