Kathryn Ann Keesler Ralston, curator of rocks, stories, beauty, and friends, died on Wednesday, September 9, four days after Dick and Kathy’s 46th wedding anniversary.
Kathy was born in Red Oak, Iowa to Max and Grace Keesler on March 15, 1938. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1955, and has remained close to many of her fellow graduates, attending and helping to organize reunions over the years. She went on to get a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from the University of Iowa in 1959.

Hello, my name is Gloria Jean Simpson. I was born May 27, 1952 to Richard E. and JoAnn Johnson Roe in Boulder, Colorado. Besides a short adventure to Empire and Dillion, I was raised in Lyons, Colorado. I graduated from Lyons High School in 1970, where I was active in choir, cheerleading, the school newspaper, and yearbook. It was during this time that I met the love of my life, Wayne R. Simpson.

Leroy Robert York, 75, passed away peacefully on May 1, in Pueblo. He was born June 4, 1939 in Waukegan, Illinois to Robert and Amanda (Pritzl) York. On February 14, 1958 he married Jenny (DeYoung) York in McHenry, Illinois. Roy and his family moved to Lyons, in 1969.

Opal B. Bryan, 87, of Lyons passed away on Friday, March 20, at Life Care Center of Longmont. She was born May 20, 1927 in Guthrie Center, IA to Ellis and Minnie (Hoepner) Brady. Opal married Melvin N. Bryan on February 17, 1951 in Audubon, IA. They moved to Longmont, in 1952, and then to Lyons, in 1955. Opal was a member of the Lyons Methodist Church.
