Calvin Eugene Schroeder, 83, of Hudson, passed away August 26, 2010 at his home.
Calvin served honorably in the US Army during World War II in the Infantry and Military Police.
He married Betty Chinn on December 14, 1952, in Clayton, New Mexico.
Calvin was a technician for Beech Aircraft until the early 1970s when Betty and Calvin purchased and operated Lyons Liquor Store. He operated the store until his retirement.
He was a member of John Harold Buckley Post 32, American Legion in Longmont. Calvin was a kind and caring person who enjoyed spending time with his family and their activities. He enjoyed traveling with his grandchildren. A licensed pilot, Calvin also enjoyed fishing and woodworking, especially building birdhouses.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents and four brothers.
He is survived by his son, Mike Schroeder of Longmont; three daughters: Rhonda Corchado (Mauricio) of Loveland, Janet Versch (Dave) of Hudson and Kim Geiwitz of Miami, Florida; two brothers: Myron and Art; two sisters: Rosemond and Eunice; five grandchildren: Alisha, Matthew, Schabrea, Amanda and Ashlee and two great-grandchildren: Samuel and Viven.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
