His CD, Postmark, is a letter with firsthand stories about his grandfather, hurricanes, the dark side of fundamentalism, love, and death. Martin lives in Glenwood Springs and plays guitar, mandolin, lap slide, and lap steel with Roaring Fork Valley bands and visiting troubadours.
Chuck Pyle says, “All the good pickers are not on the Front Range! This guy Frank Marin has got a great character voice and an on-target sense of arranging. Plus he shows up playing terrific slide and guitar.” Martin came in third at the 2006 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Contest (Honorable Mention in 07 & 08) as well as getting Honorable Mention at the Songwriters Showcase here in Lyons at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in 2004, 05, 07, & 08. Martin describes himself as “A Colorado Lyle Lovett, playing many styles of music, including Jazz, Blues, Gospel, and Zydeco. But, always rooted in Americana, Folk, and Country.
