Here it is December; time for Christmas and all its festivities. Be sure to see the Lyons Light Show in Sandstone Park (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday); go to the Christmas Bazaar (Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.), and have some of that good Golden Gang chili; do your shopping (candy, gifts, baked food), and meet Santa; topped off by the Parade of Lights at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks (fireworks where cancelled on November 30, 22) after the parade. Hot drinks will be served near the fountain in Sandstone Park by The River Church , and a bake sale and pork sandwiches and chips near the Visitors’ Center to benefit the MuseumAbout Town Nov. 8, 2012
THIS IS THE DAY! A lovely day, to end all those political ads on TV and in the papers. It will be a welcome relief. May the best men or women win!I am mostly interested in the Mill Levy override 3A, and hope it passes for the welfare of our kids of the St.Vrain, the knowledge, the property values, the community, and all that good schools bring to us all.

VETERANS DAY WAS SUNDAY, with the Longmont parade on Saturday. The Lyons High School Band participated in the parade, with a large crowd in spite of the cold and snow. All paid their respects to our veterans for the years given out of their lives, and the many who gave of their lives to defend the USA. Another beautiful week gone by! That snow was nice, and we needed the moisture. Coming from the east, you can see that the mountains got quite a bit of snow, which is still there. We will need a LOT OF SNOW TO CATCH UP! Of course, we don’t want it to snow for Halloween or the Christmas Bazaar and parade, or for the football games, but otherwise we will welcome it!
