What a glorious week,of showing off the attributes of Lyons, Colorado. Thanks to Ellen Hine and cohorts for getting the Lyons Art Walk Weekend together, to the Lyons Arts and Humanities Council for the Art Show and Film Fest, and to all other venues (Mayama, Comma Open Studio, Jacob Leeuwenburgh and Kahlie Sue Pinello’s art show at Ferg’s Inn, Lyons Redstone Museum, Quilt Show, Garden Club, Corner Studios, Longmont Spellbinders, and Lyons Community Theatre, Lyons Dairy Bar Kids Art Show, Tisha Woods art show at the Stone Cup & Kitchen, Clarifer Project, Emilyn Inglis student recital, photography exhibit at The Fork, walk around Lyons with artists, and the Death Café at Lyons Yoga & Wellness) that sported the towns amenities. Another week gone by. A busy one, too. The streets were filled with kayaks, canoes, and dogs. Lots of folks came to the Lyons Outdoor Games. Some liked it, some didn’t. The music was loud but good, and the fireworks seemed very loud (due, to reflecting off the hills), however, very enjoyable. These are the fireworks that had been in storage, since there was a fireban at the time of the Christmas parade, and the guarantee would have expired in six months. It was fun to see them, though, as it gave us spirit!
Living close to a park or school is always a pain to the nearby residents when large events are scheduled (when buying a home, you have to watch those things, if you want to have your peace and quiet).

They have all done wonders, receiving $691,250 in scholarship awards; with eleven students going to colleges out-of-state, ten to CSU, nine to CU, three to UNC, one each to DU and Mesa State, and many others to various colleges and technical schools in Colorado. Another week gone by. It was 80 degrees today! Too hot for May! Only one more week of school. How time flies. Be sure to attend all the last of school events. Over sixty students will be graduating from Lyons High, most receiving scholarships and awards. We are proud of our students, and our school, being one of only two schools of the St. Vrain District making it to the top 5% in US World Report. Congratulations.
