FAREWELL TO JULIE, SANDY, AND KIRK, dedicated Mayor and Trustees, who devoted more hours than you can think of, to you the town residents.  A farewell reception was given in their honor Monday, before the regular town board meeting. Finding Fossils Close to Home

I moved to Colorado from Texas right out of college when I was hired to teach in Jefferson County. I stood awestruck at the sight of Red Rocks Amphitheater from the playground of Bear Creek Elementary. Amazed, I listened to my second graders talk about collecting arrowheads at nearby Soda Lakes. Our favorite unit included dinosaurs and a field trip to the Natural History Museum in Denver. That was a long time ago.

Hi everyone! Spring has arrived. The Garden Club’s daffodils are popping up, and will be blooming soon (our thanks to that group of hard workers). They say most of the beds going east of town were washed out with the flood, and they have to start over. Send your donation to this group (P.O. Box 49) to help with their expenses. Volunteers to rebuild the stonewalls of the beds are needed. Contact: Lyonsvolunteers.org
