Another week gone by, and we are getting some snow.  We do need snow, but this year we are especially leery about the spring runoff.  Work is going on in the rivers to block the water from homes and about town.  A real worry!

Finding Fossils Close to Home

I moved to Colorado from Texas right out of college when I was hired to teach in Jefferson County. I stood awestruck at the sight of Red Rocks Amphitheater from the playground of Bear Creek Elementary. Amazed, I listened to my second graders talk about collecting arrowheads at nearby Soda Lakes. Our favorite unit included dinosaurs and a field trip to the Natural History Museum in Denver. That was a long time ago.
