Another week gone by, and not too bad. Windy, but it actually warmed up a little. Spring is right around the corner. This Sunday morning (or late Saturday night), turn your clocks ahead one hour. It will be nice to have longer days.

Another week gone by, cold and windy, but I see some crocuses (or are they croqui?) blooming, so spring is near.
SUCH A WIND!
93 miles per hour here in Lyons. Worse than Boulder, which is unusual.
Thanks to the Lyons firemen, who contained that fire in Stone Canyon so fast. They really did wonders, as hard as the wind was blowing. That was truly a scary situation. There doesn’t seem to be any answer as to the wildfires. We want rain and snow, which makes the grass grow, which then dries up in the hot summer months, creating a lot of dry grass to burn! Be sure to watch that you don’t start a fire by putting hot ashes out, or sparks from a vehicle or mower, etc. Take care!

I still miss that, but son, Jerry,Login to read more: About Town with Lavern Johnson February 16, 2011

Wow, what a lot of good wet snow. Just what we needed! However, schools were cancelled. I think the School District has a few “snow” days planned, and we don’t want to endanger the students waiting for the bus or taking them to school in the early morning. We do have to say, Lyons is in the “Banana” Belt, not as much snow, not so cold, nor not much wind, and it melted fast.
