Beginning this week and lasting through March, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be performing some shouldering and embankment stabilization work on State Highway (SH) 7 between mile marker (MM) 32 near Lyons and MM 21 near Raymond at varying locations. The work is necessary to help improve safety and resiliency of the temporary highway throughout the winter until the spring thaw. All work is being coordinated with the US 36
emergency reconstruction project, as SH 7 is the detour route.
Crews will be working Mondays through Saturdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Delays will be kept to less than 10 minutes and there are no commercial vehicle restrictions at this time. If inclement weather causes of work to be postponed, it may be rescheduled on a Sunday in order to keep the repairs moving forward. The speed limit will be reduced through the area, and flaggers will direct traffic through the closures. Motorists are encouraged to drive Slow for the Cone Zone!
